This exists to record my thoughts on movies, and occasionally other stuff. Too often my thoughts on something go unthunk for a while and eventually forgotten. I figure if I invested time in something in the first place, it's worth a few more minutes to make sure I remember it.

Insidious (2011)

I don’t like ghost stories, but I loved Insidious.  Probably because event though it seems like a ghost story, and some of it is, it’s more like a demon/astral plane/possession movie.  Lots of good scares but no cheap ones.  The gray kid running around IN BROAD DAYLIGHT was the creepiest.  Don’t these things know that they should only come out at night?  Coming out during the day is way too scary, it’s against the rules.  The Saw guys were behind this an it proves that they know their shit, Saw 2-7 weren’t their fault.  They know how to take a concept and turn it just enough to keep you on the edge of your seat, not seeing where it’s going next.  Good ending with this one too, fit perfectly with the story and lots of little things that seemed inconsequential all kind of came together.
