This was pretty terrible, but in a watchable way. It made no sense. She is put in a mental hospital against her will, though she doesn’t show it, and she’s 20 years old so why is this happening? She’s not crazy and could probably demonstrate it. But men are evil!!!!! So be it. Anyway she creates a fantasy land in her mind where she is basically like a whore dancer in a shitty brothel, and then a sub fantasy where she is in a video game killing lots of things that aren’t human because this is PG-13. All of this so they can pick up a few items, hit the bad guy 3 times, and escape. Except she doesn’t escape, the other bitchy girl does. And all she really does is walk out the front door. So lame.
It could have been good, but it was written so horribly and nothing made any sense and there was just too much everything. And some of the acting is like Nic Cage bad. And why the hell does the guy kill those two girls? But did he really, since this is in layer one of the fantasy? Was the dancing in fantasy world one supposed to mean that she was getting raped by orderlies in real world? And who the hell is the mentor guy? I thought he might have showed up in the beginning but we went back and didn’t see him, and then he shows up as a bus driver? Some of the action was cool, you know, samurais with mini-guns and dragons and Helghast and shit. But there was just so much nonsense in the script, no matter how pretty some parts are can’t make up for that.
